Installing Webmin in Debian Etch

HOME | SPAMASSASSIN | IPTABLES

Webmin is a must for the small site webmaster. It's secure, easy to use and very easy to install.

In debian, edit /etc/apt/sources.list
add the following line:

deb http://download.webmin.com/download/repository sarge contrib

Save sources.list then import they gpg key
#cd /root
#wget http://www.webmin.com/jcameron-key.asc
#apt-key add jcameron-key.asc
You will now be able to install with the commands :
apt-get update
apt-get install webmin
All dependencies should be resolved automatically.

Now login to webmin on port 10000, on your WINDOWS or LINUX Desktop like this:

https://localhost:10000 or https://internaladapterIP:10000

If you have NAT it will work out of the box on internal network connections unless port 10000 has been blocked.
